Financial aid from Manhattanville College, USA

All financial aid awards for International Students are based on need. Because the international admissions process at Manhattanville College is highly competitive, all students who receive financial aid have strong academic records and leadership abilities.

All International Students need to complete the College Board International Student Financial Aid Application. This application is available below or a copy may be obtained from our Financial Aid Office. The form is available in November and must be filed with our Financial Aid Office by March 1st for priority consideration.   • Verification of parental income for the most recent tax year (tax returns, if applicable)

  • Documentation of current savings, investments and family business (if applicable)

All documents must be submitted in English, and foreign currencies converted into
U.S. dollars.

2 Full Scholarships from Furman U., USA

We offer two full scholarships to two incoming international freshmen each year. These freshmen scholarships are highly competitive and based on academic excellence, strong standardized test scores, and fit to Furman. Other merit aid may be available based upon your academic and co-curricular accomplishments.

In order to be considered for these scholarships, a student must submit his or her application for admission by January 15, 2011. There is not a separate application required to be considered for an international scholarship, only the application for admission.

We do not offer any scholarships or financial aid to International Transfer Students.

Scholarships for International First-Year Students, 2011-12, The University of Iowa, USA

The University of Iowa offers several scholarships to outstanding international first-year students. Financial assistance in the form of grants, loans, or need-based aid is not available for international students.

UI Presidential Scholarship
Requires a minimum ACT composite score of 30 (or a minimum combined SAT critical reading and math score of 1330) AND a minimum cumulative high school grade-point average (GPA) of 3.80 on a 4.00 scale.

Old Gold Scholarship
For up to 350 applicants in the University of Iowa Presidential Scholarship competition.

Dean Gerhard Loewenberg Scholarship
For the top-ranking alternate in the Presidential Scholarship competition who is majoring in College of Liberal Arts and Sciences programs only (see Presidential Scholarship details higher on this page).

College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Excellence Award
For selected Old Gold Scholars with majors in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (see Old Gold Scholarship details higher on this page).

  • Value: $1,000 - $2,000
  • One-time award for first-year students only
  • Up to five awards per year

University of Iowa National Scholars Award
For entering nonresident and international first-year students who have a Regent Admission Index score of 290 or above. If your high school does not rank, an ACT composite score of 26 (or a combined SAT critical reading and math score of 1170) or above AND a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.60 on a 4.00 scale are required.

  • Value: $16,960 ($4,240 a year for up to four years)
    • If tuition increases, the scholarship will increase by the same percent.
  • Eligible students are considered automatically upon admission.

Iowa Heritage Award
For entering nonresident students who have a parent, stepparent, legal guardian, or grandparent who graduated from The University of Iowa with a bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree.

Engineering Excellence Scholarship
For engineering majors who have a 3.70 GPA (on a 4.00 scale) OR an ACT composite score of 28 (a combined SAT critical reading and math score of 1250) or above.

Tippie Scholars Program Scholarship
For students who qualify for Direct Admission to the Tippie College of Business and who apply to the Tippie Scholars Program. Additional requirements are specified below.

  • Value: $1,500
    • The award may be renewed for the sophomore year provided eligibility requirements are met.
  • Admission to the Tippie Scholars Program is highly competitive and based on academic merit and an essay.
  • The Tippie Scholars Program Scholarship Application is due February 1, 2011, for students applying for Fall 2011.

There are scholarship opportunities for international students who are full-time degree seeking students. These scholarships range from $2,000-$10,000 yearly and are based on high school GPAs for international freshman applicants and college GPAs for international transfer applicants:

Undergrad Need-based Scholarships at Bard College, USA - average award: $28,900

Bard is one of the few American colleges and universities that offers financial aid to international students. Scholarships, which are based on need, range from several thousand dollars to full-tuition coverage. The billed cost of attending the college — tuition, fees, room and board — per year are approximately $50,000. Books and personal expenses are estimated at $2,500 per year. The average financial aid grant is $28,900. The financial aid budget is not unlimited; the college will only admit a student if there are resources—personal funds, college grants, loans — adequate to pay for his or her expenses. International Student Scholarship from $1-13K/year at John Carroll U., USA.

This scholarship is designed to enroll International student leaders at John Carroll University. The recipients must exhibit the ability to excel academically, to contribute to the university environment, possess leadership qualities as well as the willingness to share their diverse cultural backgrounds.

The scholarship awards will range from $1,000-$13,000 per year. They are renewable each year, up to eight total semesters, provided the student maintains a 2.5 GPA and full-time status at John Carroll.

Scholarships for International Students to Schiller International U., USA

International students pursuing any field of study may be eligible for a scholarship of $2,775 if they are interested in attending Schiller International University. The scholarship is for undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate study in North America. The submission deadline is April 1.
