The Grameen Foundation offers fellowship aimed to fight against poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, Middle East/North Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. The inaugural Fellowship class will have up to 10 fellows, with each placement tailored to match individuals’ skills and passions, as well as Grameen Foundation’s needs.

To help us accomplish our mission, we are launching the Grameen Foundation Fellowships Program and are looking for passionate leaders for our 2013 class!

As a Grameen Foundation Fellow you’ll have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in global development and social innovation on projects that make a difference in the lives of the poor. During this one-year fellowship, you will gain significant hands-on field experience on assignments tailored to match your skills and interests with the needs of our local field offices in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Benefits

• Fellowships are 12-month field placements, based in one of Grameen Foundations local field offices in Latin America, Africa, and Asia or the US. All Fellowships include significant hands-on field work or exposure to the field.
• The inaugural Fellowship class will have up to 10 fellows, with each placement tailored to match individuals’ skills and passions, as well as Grameen Foundation’s needs.
• The Fellowship Class will receive training in preparation for their placement, as well as ongoing support and professional development opportunities.
• All Fellows will receive a stipend to cover their living expenses and lodging during their placement. Fellows are responsible for their own airfare and visa costs.

Eligibility

• Fellowship applicants must have at least three years of applicable work experience, or one year of work experience and an advanced degree to be eligible to apply.
• English fluency is required for all fellows; Spanish fluency is required for all placements in Latin America and the Caribbean.
• Applicants must complete a written application. Top candidates will then complete a series of interviews to determine their best fellowship placement.

2013-2014 Aga Khan International Postgraduate Scholarship, Afghanistan

The Aga Khan Foundation is now offering a scholarship award to international postgraduate students for 2013/2014 intake.

Description
The Aga Khan Foundation will help students with tuition fees and living expenses only. The cost of travel is not included in AKF scholarships. Applicants are requested to make every effort to obtain funding from other sources as well, so that the amount requested from the Foundation can be reduced to a minimum. Preference is given to those who have been able to secure some funding from alternative sources.

Eligibility

• The Aga Khan Foundation provides a limited number of scholarships each year for postgraduate studies to outstanding students from developing countries who have no other means of financing their studies. Scholarships are awarded on a 50% grant : 50% loan basis through a competitive application process once a year in June or July.
• The Foundation gives priority to requests for Master’s level courses but is also willing to consider applications for PhD programmes, when doctoral degrees are necessary for the career objectives of the student.
• Requests will also be considered for travel and study awards for PhD students doing their research in Third World countries on topics judged to be of interest to the Aga Khan Development Network.
• Preference is given to students under 30 years of age.

Application Procedure

• The application procedures of AKF’s International Scholarship Programme are decentralised. Students may obtain application forms as of January 1st each year from AKF offices or Aga Khan Education Services/Boards in their countries of current residence. Completed applications should be returned to the agency from which the form was obtained, or to the address indicated on the front of the form. They should not be sent to Geneva.
• Applicants should be prepared to be interviewed by local Scholarship Committees about their financial situation, their academic performance, extra-curricular achievements and career plans. Interview reports are sent with the applications to Geneva for the final selection.

Master Scholarship in Politics and Security Studies by Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe(OSCE), Central Asia

Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe(OSCE) Academy is seeking applications for  Master of Arts in Politics and Security Scholarship Program with a focus on Central Asia.

Description
The OSCE Academy in Bishkek is designed to promote and enhance the principles and values of the OSCE in the Central Asia. Located in Bishkek, the OSCE Academy is strongly embedded in the wider Central Asian academic and political context and follows a distinctive regional approach. As a regional centre for post-graduate education, capacity building, research and regional dialogue the Academy offers an absorbing and demanding program.

The Academy provides a regional and international public forum for professionals and students in the spirit of co-operation in the fields of international relations, comprehensive security, democratization, the rule of law and human rights.

Eligibility

• Successful completion of an academic degree of higher education (BA, MA, MSc, Diploma) in Political Science and other related fields, or enrollment in the final year of an undergraduate degree

• Citizenship of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan
• Applicants from other OSCE participating states can be accepted for the programme, but on a limited basis only
