2013 Commonwealth Scholarships in South Africa for Master Program in Selected South African's Institution

The scholarship is sponsored by The Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) to fund master program of any field of studies at Central University of Technology, Durban University of Technology, Tshwane University of Technology, University of Johannesburg, University of Pretoria and University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. Applicants must be coming from any Commonwealth country except South Africa and must hold a first degree of upper second class Honors standard in relevant discipline.

Description
Scholarships will be given to study in any subject offered by the universities, except for the Central south Africa University of Technology, where priority will be given to applicants in Tourism and/or Hospitality Management, Education, Biomedical Technology, Engineering and ICT. Scholarships are awarded for a one or two-year Master’s degree programme in any subject offered by the universities, except for the Central University of Technology, where priority will be given to applicants. 5 Commonwealth Scholarships are available. Applications should be submitted to national nominating agencies in the first instance.

Eligibility

• Be citizens of any Commonwealth country except South Africa
• Hold a first degree of upper second class Honours standard (or above) in a discipline relevant to that in which study is proposed

Hotel Education Scholarship Fully Sponsored by American and Lodging Education Foundation, USA

A total of $318,000 has been allocated to 85 universities and colleges affiliated with AH&LEF to support students studying in the related fields.

Description
This Hotel Education Scholarship is come from a generous contribution of proceeds from AH&LA Allied Members, Melinda Bush,Cecil B. Day Memorial, John Clifford Memorial, Handlery Hotels, Conrad N. Hilton Memorial, Hilton Worldwide, Creighton Holden Memorial, Steve Hymans Extended Stay Scholarship, Richard Kelley, Richard Kessler, J. Willard Marriott Memorial, Curtis C. Nelson, the American Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS) as well as funds raised through AH&LEF's Annual Giving Program, previous capital giving campaigns and special events like the Big Apple Silent Auction, Golf Classic, and Hospitality Heritage Dinner Tribute.

Benefit: The successful applicants of this hotel education scholarship will receive Award amounts can range from $500 to $3,000 depending upon enrollment and recommended amount from school.

Eligibility

1. Be full-time students in an undergraduate hospitality management degree granting program
2. Have a minimum 3.0 GPA (2.0 if receiving Conrad Hilton Funds)
3. Qualify as U.S. citizen or permanent resident
4. Have completed 1-2 years of school depending on the program

All student nominees must complete sections 1-3 and 8 of the AH&LEF Scholarship Application.  Additionally, under separate cover, participating schools are required to send a nomination form confirming their nominees and providing suggested award amounts.  AH&LEF will not consider applicants for these awards without verification from their respective schools.  AH&LEF academic scholarship applications are only accepted from January 1 to May 1 each year.  Please note that any applications received from May 2 through December 31 will not be reviewed because the information provided will be outdated for the next school year.
