So I decided to investigate I went to their last graduating ceremony in one of their many study centers, what I saw humbled me; I saw many young boys and girls, even the number of young secondary school leavers that are students far exceeds that of working class students, most importantly I talked to various members of their Aluminia, I was satisfied with what they have to say, even most of them are high ranking people in the country, they have lawyers, government officials,bankers to name a few.I have no doubt in my mind about the school giving valid certificate. Open University is too costly. I've heared that too no doubt you have, the school is often potrayed by some as "rich men school" that is school for the rich, before I say anything check this out, most Universities in Nigeria especially State owned are paying 80,000 to 150,000 naira as school fees, minus other school espenses, for instance a student in Abia State University Absuu pays more than 100,000 naira as school fees. On the other hand a student in Open university pays 30 to 60,000 naira depending on study type. So now is Open university costly?
Open University is not popular. lol Joke of the month, most Nigerian forums online, their members keep talking about Open University, the university is this the university is that, so what does that the make the school? Popular not so?. Open university is known abroad especially in America and Europe, infact it so well known over there, that it exceeds the popularity of most major Nigerian universities. Why? The reason is simple Open University makes use of the internet a lot.

Best School in terms of Academics A student of Open university is required to read and study before he or she can pass their exams, as their is no form of sorting, exam malpractice during examination. You won't even see any lecturers to lecture you, rather you will be given text books to read, and do reserch on.
2. Certificate is highly valuable. As a result of the points mentioned above, if eventually you graduate from NOUN, you will get a Job even more quickly than others, their certificate is highly treasured by employers, compared to a second class upper degree obtained from some university in the country, a NOUN graduate with second class lower is better off getting a job than one with second class upper.
3. Duration. In terms of years spent in school before graduating, it is the same with other Federal university, because the flexiblity you can even spend more less it all depends on you, if you continue writing their exams and passing it, you will graduate sooner than expected.
