Commonwealth Scholarship for Developing Countries – Masters and PhD
Each year, the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission invites each nominating agency, university or university body to forward a specific number of nominations for the commonwealth scholarship for developing countries for Masters and PhD studies. Each nominating agency/university/university body is responsible for its own selection process, and in most cases they will set a closing date in the months preceding the CSC’s deadline for nominations.

Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme in UK Universities
The Commonwealth Shared Scholarships, set up by the Department for International Development (DFID) in 1986, represent a unique partnership between the United Kingdom government and UK universities. To date, more than 3,500 students from developing Commonwealth countries have been awarded Shared Scholarships. Without these awards they would not otherwise have been able to benefit from UK higher education.

Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships – PhD in UK and Home country University
Commonwealth Split-site Scholarships support one year’s study at a UK university as part of a PhD being undertaken in your home country, under joint supervision of a home country and UK supervisor.

Commonwealth Professional Fellowships for Commonwealth Developing Countries
The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission offers the Commonwealth Professional Fellowships to support mid-career professionals from developing Commonwealth countries to spend a period of time with a UK host organisation working in their field for a programme of professional development. Fellowships are typically three months but can be between one and six months in length and can include limited time for attendance at short courses or conferences, as well as visits to other organizations.

Chevening Scholarships for Commonwealth Countries
The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office Chevening Scholarship programme was established in 1983 and is now an internationally prestigious scheme with over 41,000 alumni. In 2011-12 there were over 700 Chevening Scholars studying at universities across the UK. Chevening Scholarships are currently offered in approximately 110 countries. Chevening awards enable Scholars to study a one-year postgraduate Master’s course in any discipline at any UK university.

British Council /NLNG Scholarships in UK for Nigerian graduates to study for Masters
The Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) group is offering 10 graduate students the chance to study for a Masters qualification at a UK university from September 2014. The NLNG Scholarship, currently administered by the British Council, funds your study and contributes towards your living expenses for the duration of your Masters degree.

Irish Aid Fellowships for Postgraduate Applicants from Select African Countries
Irish Aid Fellowships are awarded by the Department of Foreign Affairs and are targeted mainly at the countries in which Ireland has established development cooperation programmes: Ethiopia, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Timor Leste and Vietnam, plus the Palestinian territories.

Masters: Africa London Nagasaki (ALN) scholarship fund for African scientists
The Africa London Nagasaki (ALN) scholarship fund supports African scientists wishing to undertake a Master’s degree related to the control of infectious diseases in Africa. Each year, up to four scientists will receive up to a maximum award of US$50,000 each to cover tuition fees, travel and living expenses.

Wellcome Trust offers Fellowship in Public Health and Tropical Medicine for Masters students from low- and middle-income (developing) countries. This scheme strengthens scientific research capacity in low- and middle-income countries, by providing support for junior researchers to gain research experience and high-quality research training at Masters Degree level.

The Ibrahim Scholarships are a range of programmes to support aspiring leaders for the African continent. The scholarships reflect a range of priorities for African development.
The Foundation is committed to showcasing the best talent from the African continent, particularly amongst those groups who are often denied the opportunity to contribute to their society’s development.

Full Beit Trust Scholarship for Students from Malawi, Zambia or Zimbabwe
The Beit Trust offers, annually, a small Number of Scholarships abroad for postgraduate studies or research to graduates who are domiciled in Malawi, Zambia or Zimbabwe (the beneficial area). Scholarships are taken up at a university in the United Kingdom, Ireland or South Africa, for study in a subject of the individual’s choice appropriate to the needs of the beneficial area.

UK 9/11 Scholarships Fund
The UK 9/11 Scholarships Fund was initiated to award scholarships to children or dependants of victims of the September 11 attacks on the USA, or other subsequent terrorist tragedy, for Undergraduate study at higher education institutions in the UK. Unless your parents were killed or permanently injured in the 9/11 attacks, you would not qualify for this scholarship.

London Metropolitan University Scholarships
London Metropolitan University and ISH Scholarships for Developing Countries, UK (Bachelor & Masters)
This scholarship scheme is run jointly by International Students House (ISH) and London Metropolitan University for selected developing Countries. University of the West of England -UWE international scholarships
The University of the West of England, Bristol offers more than £100,000 worth of scholarships for international students each year. A student can only be in receipt of one University of the West of England scholarship, If you meet the eligibility criteria for more than one of the scholarships, you will be awarded the scholarship which is the most beneficial to you.
