2013/2014 FIRST Scholarship at Daniel Webster College, USAThe FIRST Scholarship at Daniel Webster College will provide $7,500/year up to $30,000 which will be granted for an outstanding incoming first-year student who has participated on a FIRST team during his/her high school years.

Description

As part of the Daniel Webster College and FIRST Leadership Initiative, this scholarship is established to enhance the development of leadership and technical skills through teamwork. The FIRST Scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding incoming first-year student who has participated on a FIRST team during his/her high school years. The FIRST Scholarship is a $7,500 renewable. scholarship worth $30,000 over four-years.

Eligibility
In order to be qualified for this scholarship position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • High School GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Minimum combined SAT score of 1150 on math and critical reading
  • Minimum ACT composite score of 23 or higher
  • Must have participated on a FIRST team in high school
  • Must be accepted as a full-time first-year student for the 2011 - 2012 academic year

Application Procedure

To apply this scholarship you should provide the following documents:
  1. A recommendation from a mentor or leader on your FIRST team
  2. A detailed resume that highlights your leadership and technical skills
  3. A 500-word essay on the following quote: “Remember, the FIRST competition is not about building a robot; it’s about building a team.” Vincent Wilczynski
