The Dayco Scholarship is a merit-based/need-based scholarship administered by the S.C. Commission on Higher Education.  To be eligible, applicants must be either an employee or a dependent of an employee of Dayco Products, Inc. employed by a branch of the company located in South Carolina for at least four calendar years.  

Description
DAYCO Products, Inc. and the Commission on Higher Education work together to assist the State in reaching its educational goals and objectives. The scholarship is intended to assist DAYCO Products, Inc. employees or their dependents in pursuing a college education at an eligible South Carolina insti-tution.

The Dayco Scholarship may be used towards the cost of attendance for up to eight terms based on the student's initial college enrollment date.  Students must be enrolled in their first one-year program, first associate’s degree, first two-year program leading to a baccalaureate degree, first baccalaureate degree, or first professional degree.

Eligibility
  • Be either an employee or a dependent of an em-ployee of DAYCO Products, Inc. located in South Carolina. Employee must be employed by DAYCO for at least four years;
  • Earn a cumulative 3.25 GPA (based on the SC Uniform Grading Policy SC UGP) upon high school graduation;
  • Rank in the top 20% of the high school graduat-ing class;
  • Demonstrate a financial need;
  • Must be a South Carolina resident for tuition and fees purposes;
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resi-dent;
  • Must be enrolled as a degree-seeking student at an eligible South Carolina public or independent institution;
  • Must not owe a refund or repayment on any State or Federal financial aid and not be in default on a Federal student loan; and
  • Must have never been convicted of any felonies and have not been convicted of any second or subsequent alcohol/drug-related misdemeanor offenses with the past academic year.

Application Procedure
  • Students must complete a Free, Application for Federal Student, Aid (FAFSA).
  • Students must complete a DAYCO Scholarship application and FAFSA. Release form. The forms are located at www.che.sc.gov (click on Students And Parents tab; Scholarships and Grants; DAYCO Scholarship.
  • Submit an official final high school transcript, a FAFSA Release form, and the DAYCO Scholarship application to:
