About Randolph-Macon College

Location: Randolph-Macon is located 15 miles from the state capital of Richmond, Virginia, and 90 miles from Washington, D.C., the nation's capital. R-MC is within one day's drive of most major east coast cities.

Tradition: R-MC is a liberal arts college offering the most comprehensive core curriculum of any college or university in Virginia.

Academics: We offer 30 majors and nearly 40 minors. Since 1920, a higher percentage of Randolph-Macon graduates have earned Ph.D.s than that of any other private college in Virginia.

Financial Aid: A variety of non-need based academic scholarships are awarded each year ranging from $5,000 to $25,000 and are based on academic performance, standardized test scores, and extracurricular involvement. Need-based financial aid for international applicants is limited. To be considered for need-based aid, you must complete the International Student Financial Aid Application and mail a copy to the Admissions Office.

Applications: Applications for the fall semester are due by March 1. All applicants must send:

  • A completed application for admission with written essay
  • Secondary school transcript
  • TOEFL scores for non-native English speakers (required minimum score: 550 on paper-based test, 213 on computer-based test, or 80 on Internet-based test)
  • Letter of recommendation
  • $30 application fee (for paper applications only; online applications do not require a fee)
  • A signed Statement of Financial Support and official bank statements for your bank or your sponsor's bank as verification of a student's ability to finance a Randolph-Macon education. This Statement of Financial Support, official bank statements, and a copy of the student's passport photo page are required of all applicants who are not US citizens or permanent residents. Once an applicant has been accepted and the Office of Admissions has received this information and verified the student's ability to pay, the I-20 document will be released to allow the student to obtain an F-1 student visa.
