What funds are available to international students?
As an international student, you’re not eligible to apply for federal or state financial aid. However, HMC does provide financial support for a limited number of international students each year. We offer awards for international students, including the need-based International Student Scholarship and some merit award programs, one that is specifically designated for international students (the So Scholarship). If you will need financial support, you should apply for financial aid at the same time that you apply for admission. If you don’t apply for or receive financial aid as a first-year, you won’t be considered for financial aid in future years at HMC. Once you are awarded aid, your financial need will be assessed annually; however, your maximum annual award will be limited to the amount granted in the first year at HMC. Thus, if costs increase while you are attending HMC, your family should expect to contribute more to your educational costs. The number of awards and the maximum awards are set annually based upon available funding.
