Scholarships from McKendree U., USA

McKendree University Merit Scholarships
The following institutional scholarships are available to International Students that have completed the application process and have been accepted to McKendree.

Academic Scholarships
Academic Scholarships for varying amoutns are awarded to qualified first year and transfer students. Eligibility for these scholarships is determined by a student's academic profile. Students can only receive one academic scholarship.
1. Presidential Scholarships are available to first year students that have either a 3.4 (4.0 scale) cumulative GPA or a 1700 or higher SAT score. These awards range from $5,000 to $10,000 annually.
2. Board of Trustees' Scholarships are available to first year students that have both a 3.7 (4.0 scale) cumulative GPA and a 1980 or higher SAT score. These awards range from $11,000 to $17,000 annually.
3. Transfer Scholarships are available to students wishing to transfer to McKendree. These scholarships are based on the academic work completed before seeking transfer to McKendree.
- Students with a cumulative transfer GPA of 3.0 to 4.0 will receive $5,500 annually
- Students with a cumulative transfer GPA of 2.75 to 2.99 will receive $3,000 annually
- A $2,000 Phi Theta Kappa scholarship is available to students upon receipt of a copy of the membership card.

Athletic Scholarships
Scholarships awarded in varying amounts to selected men and women participating in these intercollegiate sports: men’s soccer, basketball, football, track and field, cross country, baseball, tennis, golf and wrestling; women’s volleyball, soccer, tennis, basketball, softball, golf, track and field, bowling and cross country. Contact the individual coach in each sport.

Community Service Scholarships
Service Scholarships are offered to selected first-year students who have demonstrated involvement in community service and have a 2.5 cumulative GPA. Visit the Center for Public Service page for more information.

Debate (Forensics) Scholarships
Debate Scholarships are available to selected first-year students intending to participate in the McKendree Forensics Team. Contact the coach of the program, Mr. Joe Blasdel.

Music Provost Scholarships
Provost Scholarships are awarded to students with demonstrated excellence in vocal, keyboard, or instrumental performance that plan to Major or Minor in music. Award amount is determined by strength of audition and academic profile. This scholarship has a maximum value ot $14,000 annually and cannot be paired with the Presidential, Board of Trustees', or Transfer Scholarships.

Band Scholarships
Students can receive a band scholarship for co-curricular participation in marching/pep band and/or jazz ensemble/combo. Award amount is determined by audition.
Maximum award: $4,000 annually

John Wesley/Methodist Scholarships are awarded to selected students who have a $500 or $1000 scholarship from their church. (McKendree will match these awards with either a $250 or $500 scholarship).

Financial Aid
Students wishing to apply for additional financial assistance must print out and return the International Student Financial Aid Application. Incomplete forms will not be processed.
