Scholarship Grant - Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant, USA

TEACH Grant is a grant for teacher or who want to become a teacher in a high-need field in a low-income area. This grant for teacher is different from other federal student grants because it requires you to take certain kinds of classes in order to get the grant, and then do a certain kind of job to keep the grant from turning into a loan.

Description
The TEACH Grant Program provides grants in the amount up to $4,000 a year to students who are completing or plan to complete course work needed to begin a career in teaching. In order to receive the grant for teacher, applicants must sign a TEACH Grant Agreement to Serve in which you agree to (among other requirements) teach
    grant for teacher
  • in a high-need field
  • at an elementary school, secondary school, or educational service agency that serves students from low-income families
  • for at least four complete academic years within eight years after completing (or ceasing enrollment in) the course of study for which you received the grant

Eligibility
Before applying this grant for teacher please make sure that you meet the following criteria:
  • demonstrate financial need (for most programs);
  • be a U.S. citizen or an eligible noncitizen;
  • have a valid Social Security number (with the exception of students from the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, or the Republic of Palau);
  • be registered with Selective Service, if you’re a male (you must register between the ages of 18 and 25);
  • be enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a regular student in an eligible degree or certificate program;
  • be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible for Direct Loan Program funds;
  • maintain satisfactory academic progress in college or career school;
  • sign statements on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSASM) stating that you are not in default on a federal student loan and do not owe money on a federal student grant and you will use federal student aid only for educational purposes; and
  • show you’re qualified to obtain a college or career school education by having a high school diploma or a recognized equivalent such as a General Educational Development (GED) certificate or completing a high school education in a homeschool setting approved under state law.
