Language Scholarship
Description
The language scholarship of National Security Language Initiative for Youth is fully funded by sponsored by the United States Department of State. The purpose of this language scholarship is to provide an amount of funds for students interested in learning less commonly taught languages in overseas immersion programs. The following are the languages that will be covered by this scholarship: Arabic, Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, Korean, Persian (Tajik), Russian, and Turkish. 

The successful applicants will will be studying them in countries straight out of a James Bond movie–China, Egypt, Oman, Taiwan, Russia, Tajikistan, Jordan, and many other exotic locales.

Eligibility

In order To be eligible for this language scholarship, students must be U.S. citizens who have at least a 2.5 GPA  and are currently enrolled in high school (at the time of the application).  Additionally, students must be between the ages of 15 and 18.   Please note that previous language study is not required.
