2013/2014 City of Boston Scholarship Fund, USA

This scholarship fund is specially offered to outstanding students of Boston resident to support the financial need of further education.

Description
Since 1994, the City of Boston Scholarship Fund has offered college scholarships to scores of outstanding Boston residents with a financial need to further their education. The fund is supported by taxpayer donations and fundraising events.

Eligibility
    2013/2014 City of Boston Scholarship Fund, USA
  1. Be a legal resident of Boston for at least two years as of January 1 of the year of the application.
  2. Have graduated from high school or have completed the G.E.D. by the time the awards are made.
  3. Plan to pursue any two or four year accredited post-secondary institution within Massachusetts.

Application Procedure
Please provide the following documents:
  • Application. Applicants must fill out and submit the proper application by the application deadline.
  • Answering the question on page 5 of the proper application, applicants must submit a 300-500 word essay.
  • Recommendation
  • If you are applying as an incoming college freshman or are in college and are not currently a recipient of the City of Boston Scholarship, you must include a recommendation with your application.
  • If you are submitting a renewal application, you do not need to submit a recommendation.
  • Secondary School Record
  • An official secondary school report is required.
  • SAT, ACT, TOEFL, or G.E.D. Score Report
  • In addition to your school record, as an applicant you must also provide either your SAT, ACT, TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language), or GED (General Education Development) score report.
  • Financial Aid Forms
  • As an applicant you must provide your most recent 1040 Tax Return as well as your FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) or Student Aid Report (SAR) for verification of financial aid. If you are applying for a renewal, you will also be required to submit your most current Financial Aid package from the college which you attend.
  • Interview. If you are selected as a semi-finalist, you will be interviewed by a member of the Scholarship Committee.
