Phd StudenshipThe PhD scholarships will grant £15,750 for international students with a strong academic record to commence a PhD in all subjects which comes under King’s Russia Institute.The award will be provided by The King’s College of London. The position requires an evidence and strength of academic qualifications gained and strength of the research proposal. The King’s Russia Institute PhD Studentships will cover tuition fees at home/EU level and provide an annual stipend at the research council level for up to three years subject to satisfactory progress.

Description
Subject to the Russia Institute PhD programme being approved, applications for a PhD Studentship in the King’s Russia Institute will sought from students who intend to undertake research within the King’s Russia Institute.

Benefits: Stipend of £15,750 for 2013/14 plus Home/EU tuition fees, plus up to £1,000 a year in research expenses.PhD Studentships cover tuition fees at home/EU level and offers annual stipend at the research council level for up to three years subject to satisfactory progress.

Eligibility:
  1. Commence on the full-time MPhil/PhD research degree within the Russia Institute during 2013/14.
  2. Fulfill the relevant academic entry requirements set by King’s.
  3. These studentships cannot be held on a part-time basis.
  4. Students required to pay overseas tuition fees will be required to cover the difference between the home/EU and overseas fee level from alternative sources.

Application Procedure

The successful application will be based on the following assessments:
  • Evidence and strength of academic qualifications gained (minimum entry qualification is a 2i and/or a higher degree), and where applicable, professional qualifications and/or relevant experience;
  • Strength of the research proposal;
  • Matching of the applicant's interests with his/her supervisors or potential supervisors amongst academic staff in the King's Russia Institute or associate fellows in other departments of King's;
  • Strength of the academic references
