The two essay contest as described below:

Carnegie Council’s International Student/Teacher Essay Contest
This essay contest is open to teachers and students anywhere in the world. The topic for this essay is:

In your opinion, what is the greatest ethical challenge or dilemma facing the planet?


All entries should be in English. It should be written in op-ed style, length 1,000 to 1,500 words. First prize is a $250 Amazon gift card, second prize is a $150 Amazon gift care, and third prize is a $75 Amazon gift care. Applications must be submitted by the December 31, 2012 deadline.

Carnegie Council’s Trans-Pacific Student Contest, “Ethics for a Connected World”:
This essay or video contest is open to American and Asian university students from one of the following countries: Brunei, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, North Korea, Philippines, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, or Vietnam. The essay topic is:

What is the greatest ethical challenge facing U.S.-Asia relations or the U.S. and one of the Asian countries listed?

Each entry must be a collaboration between an American student and a student from one of the previously mentioned countries. For submission requirements, prizes, and help finding a partner to collaborate, click the link above. Submission deadline is April 30, 2013.
