Where is Nigeria's Blackface

The music sensation and indeed the wind sweeping through Nigeria's music industry is something which should be looked into.
The wind have blown some Nigerian musicians away, included is one man who has come a long way in singing and doing music, his name is Blackface.

So where is Blackface? Is he sleeping? Is he dead or have the wind blown him away too? where is he once more?
Too many questions begging for answers, but first lets get to know Blackface.

Who is Nigeria's Blackface?

Blackface whose real names are Amedu Augustine Obiabo was born and raised in Benue State of Nigeria, he was from the Idoma tribe.
He attainded Institute of Management and Technology Enugu, IMT, where he meet Innocent Ujah Idibia widely known as Tuface, who accidentally was from the State and from the same tribe, they hit it off and became a group with Chibuzor Nnaji known as Faze becoming the third member of their group known as the Planteshun Boiz.

Planteshun Boiz

A group formed by three different individuals with three different styles of music, Tuface an excellent pop singer then, Blackface a reggee specialist, and Faze backing them all up with a strong and excellent vocals. Out of the three Faze was the most talented in the sense that he can combine, both styles with his own. Tuface was the most succesfull having set the record as the best 9ja muscian to win many awards, though P.square are pretty close. So now what about Blackface? Blackface got talent there is no doubting that, but he is too busy playing Boss and fuming over the break-up of his group that he can't move up.

The Break up

Is painful seeing what you've worked so hard to build go down the wire, that's what happened to Blackface, he founded the group Platenshun Boiz, which grew to become the best music group Nigeria back then, they also won many awards.
It breaked up, the break up can be blamed on the three members, everyone played his own part, whether they know it or not.
Blackface is blamed because of his failure as the group leader to keep the group, by making sure Tufaze and Faze get to participate in major decisions. Faze can be excused from blame, though by virture of being a member he is automatically blamed. Tuface on the other hand is both the architect and the instigator of the break up. One thing is certain that song "African Queen" which Tuface sang alone broke them up.

Blackface compared to Tuface and Faze

Compared to Faze and Tuface, Blackface has achieved nothing of note since the break up. While Tuface has grown stronger in the music industry, winning many awards and accolades all over Africa and Nigeria, performed on countless number of shows, collaborated with top 9ja and American artists.
Faze on the other hand has grown too, just like Tuface he has won many awards, done many stage shows, has many albums, etc. Blackface is no where to be found, he hasn't done any song of note lately, his stage show offers are few or none, virtually no personal awards, the ones he has was the ones won by the group.

The way forward for Blackface

Blackface should forget everything and move forward, forget he ever was a boss before, forget and forgive Tuface and Tuface should reciprocate too (he refused to invite Blackface to his wedding). Make up with Faze.
Is the hurt that is eating him up, pride also is one factor he should put aside. If Blackface can do that I don't see the reason why he won't move up, even higher than others. Well if he don't, I mean getting Tuface and Faze back to his side once more not as a group but as friends, he can't survive with the likes of Whizkid, Flavour, Iyanya and others dominating. If you doubt me well you should know Blackface didn't go into hibernation or sleep mode because he wanted to, he has sung a couple of songs but it didn't make it in Nigeria's music charts because of competition.

Hoping Blackface will bounce back soon, 9ja music really miss him.

Do you know SKY B? The one that sang "cry for me" and "my baby am calling?" wondering what happened to him? Read 9ja music artist sky B where is he

Social Etiqette In America

social etiquette in America

The United States is such a socially and ethnically diverse country, so it is difficult to be precise about rules of social etiquette. It is possible to be general, however.

Most Americans are generally casual about their professional and social relationships. Therefore, it is not strange to call your colleague, your boss, or a new acquaintance by his or her first name. Americans have a democratic tradition that does not rely heavily on hierarchy, so titles are less important in America than they may be in other countries.

When greeting someone, it is not a must to shake hands unless you are being introduced to someone or in business situations. However, if someone offers you his or he hand, you should shake it. It is not customary to hug and kiss as a greeting.

Americans are very casual when it comes to the way they dress. Their priority is comfort, which is why they appear to be very informal. When it comes to business attire, there is a somewhat stricter dress code.
Women generally wear European-style business suits and men wear suit and tie. It is not uncommon, however, to see men in their shirtsleeves and without their jackets while they are having lunch, especially during the spring and summer months. In many companies, office workers have decided to dress down on Fridays and wear casual, comfortable clothes. It is not uncommon to see women wearing business suits and sneakers as the they are in the city. Working women in America can decide to wear fashionable business with their sneakers on their feet and their shoes in their bags.
This trend can be traced to New York at the begining of the 1980s during a strike, which forced many people to walk for miles to get to work.
During that transit strike many women took to the streets wearing their sneakers, while keeping their high heel shoes in their bags. Soon this trend became the norm for many women today.

In the United States people give a lot importance to time.
Americans are very respectful when it comes to schedules, be it entertainment or business. Most people try to stick to their schedules and make every attempt to be punctual. Therefore, if are invited to dinner or you've arranged to meet someone at a certain time, you are expected to keep to that time and arrive on time. Most Americans dislike it when people are not punctual. Time is an important factor in American life, that is why they tend to get angry when people are not punctual.

If you've been invited to go to someone's home for dinner, it is customary to bring a gift. The gift does not have to be expensive; it is merely a token of appreciation. You can decide to bring gifts like wine, flowers, or dessert.

When it comes to personal relations, men or women can invite each other to go out on a date. It is still somewhat customary for men to pay for meals when on a date, though it is not uncommon to split the bill in less formal situations. On certain occasions, women may offer to pay for the entire bill. If you've been invited on a date, you should offer to pay your share of the bill. You can accept you date's invitation to pay if he or she insists repeatedly for you to pay. But keep in mind that service is generally not included in most restaurants in the United States. But you are expected to pay a tip of fifteen to twenty percent of the total.

Membership of Cults what is involved

membership of cults

If the activities are like the dynamics/power-house of cultism, the organizational structure is the architecture of cultism.
So, who are the members cults in Africa especially Nigeria? Who can become members? Any student who is not physically disabled or born-again Christian is qualified to be a member. Variously called civilians, Jews, lubblers and many nicknames every student is a target for recruitment. It has been said, however, that secret cults target the children of the wealthy, the proffessionals and highly-placed official in the society. It is surmised that the family name and influence would be used to protect a scion from dragging their name to the gutters.
Moreover, such members will be able produce the "lalas" or "fingas for chopping trebo". This is true but quite often members come from poor families especially those with an urge for upward mobility. Because of an inner urge to subvert, the cults target intelligent young people as if determined to lure them away from concentrating on academics.

An example of influence-peddling could be garnered from the following report:

"From- B.E Romania
To- GE, BAN

On Feb 13, 1990, there was a musical show at the school auditorium. During the course of the show, a canister of tear gas was thrown into the auditorium by some boys who are members of the Viking Confraternity. Consequently, their names were given to the Chief Security Officer by students and the Security started investigating the incident.
On Feb. 21, 1990, a lord, Tiger Tanaka, was attacked by some members of the Vikings Confraternity across the school gate.
Apparently, the security investigated the attack. The Viking boys lied and accused the Sea Lord for attacking them. A was set up and certain lords were invited including Acid De Dagger, Jaguar de Nana, Dirty Koroko, Simple De Komplex, Virgin de Breaker, Tiger Tanaka, and others, the roport continues

"On Apriel 12, 1990, expulsion letters were handed out to the lords that appeared. The lords consulted some lawyers Obunsen, R.I Esq and Nwakanwa, B. Esq. on this issue of expulsion and proceedings against the school were started. Dirty Konoko's father had earlier on met the head of the pane, a Professor who is a friend of his."
Finally the cult lords won and the expulsion was quashed. "Alora/GE, right now everything is under".

Surely, the membeship of Dirty Konoko proved most helpful in rescuing the operations of Vikings and Buccaneers in Abia State University, Uturu, in 1990. The use of influential people, parents, uncles, patrons and suck-like to buffer the cults is a most interesting phenomeon. It is as if these young people explo4t the inner contradiction of the social system to subvert it. Since the culture of the "Big Man" engages in influence peddling, corrupt value system as the touchstone of their anti-structure expression. Adults are manipulated to call black, white and vice versa.
Thus, the Chairman of a Panel, a University Law Professor subverts the decisions of his Panel. Quite often, they target students who are politically conscientized or under the tutelage of left-wing academics people who are angry with the system and who would yield easily to subversive rhetoric and practice.
Moreover, it is known that the children of the wealthy are prone to be indisciplined and keen on escapades.

Membership in the new cults is no longer based on good academic standing. The Jaw-Jaw (interview) exercise is used to gather extracurricular information on corruptible social network of individual, experience in delinquency and any other resources which could be used, for instance, experince in occultism and herbal medicine. A "civilian" is someone who intends to join the subversive squad.

9ja Music Artist Sky B Where is he

where is Nigeria's Sky B
From the rave makingSky Bto Resonance AKA Chinwe Ike with their lee lee track down to the more recent Wakumzy, and Blackface formerly of the Plantashun boys which included the award winning Turface and the great vocalist Faze.
Nothing has been heard of this great 9ja musicians since their last albums, are they sleeping? Or is the competition too much for them? I mean with the likes of Whizkid, Banky, and even the more recent Splendid the "Aboki shine my shoe" crowner and other junior 9ja music artist per-say.
lets see how this three or four 9ja musicians made it to the limelight before vanishing into darkness.

Read What makes music a hit

SKY B

1. Artist : Sky "B"
Album : Pray For Me
Country : Nigeria
Genre : Hip Hop/ R&B
Tracks
1. Pray For Me
2. Keep It So
3. You Break My Heart
4. You Promise Not To Go
5. Am Calling
6. Here I Am
7. I’m Calling [ Remix]
Sky B. This 9ja guy made name for his self in 2007 with his debut album "Pray For Me" which sold nearly 1 miliion CD copies minus pirated copies, what really made that album tick was the hit track "I"m Calling" which made 9ja especially the Eastern part of Nigeria sit up! And go "gaga". The other tracks where hits also, some done with slow emotion laden beats and some done with what was considered party beats back then, although compared to now, those party beats are outdated can't match the current one produced now.
Based in Portharcourt Nigeria's Sky B was famous for how he mixes great vocals with local flavour producing a genre of Hip hop which we havn't seen of recent. Not even the likes of Baby oku crowner Flavour and 9ice can match him on that, the guy was so talented that people started grading him on par with the likes of P.square and 2face(both of them seniors).

Year 2008 Sky B was tipped to become a long time member of Nigeria's music industry, as bright and young as he is many expected him to become one of the pillars of 9ja music, as he was in the same form with Alingo crowners the group known as P.square, Ihe na eme artist 2face and the 9ja beef master Ruggedman not forgetting Idris. For a promising talent who burst into limelight to vanish like that is beyond comprehension, how many current Naija artist made it into limelight on their first try? Only two I know of Timaya and Sky B, Timaya with his first Album, that hit 1 million copies sold since then he havn't looked back.

Sky B six years counting

Is now six years since Sky B vanished from Nigeria's music scence, like a whirl wind, he vanished into thin air. While Sky B went into self-exile, P.square, 2face, D'banj and others has risen, they are growing from strength to strength, in six years P.square has produced over 2 dozens of solos, a handful of collabos, many awards, has signed record contracts with foreign record label, became ambassadors to many organizations particulary Globacom.
2face on the other hand is not left out, 2face is an example of a succesfull music artist, has won many awards, has collaborated with top International music artist, has won many Children (if you consider that an achievement) has finally settled down.
The koko master himself D'banj is not left out, in six years he has his own record label, collabos with many local and International artist, many awards.
In six years many new artist have entered 9ja music industry, during that period we have seen muscians like Flavour N'bania, KC, Wandy cole, African rapper no.1 M.I, Iceprince, Olamide, Nato C, Omawumi, Stomrex to name a few. Producers has risen to the challenge and has produced excellent beats, in many cases it is the beats that makes a song sell, if you doubt me listen to Iyanya's "Kukere". In six years party beats has evolved to a new level no longer what is used to be, the senior artist has also adapted like P.square first 100 percent party beat produced "Alingo".

Back to the matter where is Sky B

Everything has changed, the beats, the artist So Sky B has vanished, is he sleeping? Is the competition too much for him? Is he dead? Sky B where are you?. I'll try and find out even if it entails going to PH.

BlackBerry Launches Global Women’s Initiative

Global Creative Director, Alicia Keys, Inaugurates BlackBerry Scholars Program – a multi-level strategy to engage young women across the globe in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)
Orlando, FL and Waterloo, ON – May, 14, 2013 – Today, BlackBerry® (NASDAQ: BBRY; TSX: BB) Global Creative Director, Alicia Keys, launched the new BlackBerry Scholars Program, the first step in its global women’s initiative designed to inspire more women to enter and develop careers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). The program was unveiled at BlackBerry Live in Orlando, Florida.
The BlackBerry Scholars Program will provide full, four-year tuition scholarships to outstanding women who are seeking degrees at accredited colleges and universities in the areas of STEM with a particular interest or aptitude in the area of mobile computing.  This scholarship program is the first step in BlackBerry’s long-term commitment and multi-tiered strategy to engage young women at every step of their education from high school to college, and as they rise through the workforce.
While significantly more women enroll and graduate college than men, only 25% of U.S. IT jobs are held by women, and 56% of these women eventually leave the field of technology for other careers. As more than 55% of BlackBerry customers are women, BlackBerry aims to champion this generation of female leaders as they strive to achieve their ambitions in this highly-competitive industry.
“Women are underrepresented in fields of science and technology, and we feel strongly that it’s time to drive a change,” said BlackBerry Global Creative Director, Alicia Keys. “It’s important to connect the dots for young women in high school and college, and show them that careers in science and technology are within their reach. And when women do land these jobs, it’s vital they receive the mentoring and support they need to advance in their careers. I’m proud BlackBerry is demonstrating leadership in women’s education, both in school and in the workplace, and giving back to its most loyal users in such a profound way.”
In addition to providing full, four-year course tuition, BlackBerry will also offer mentorship and professional opportunities for each of the scholars. The scholars will be selected based on their academic merit and passion for entering the mobile computing industry. A panel of inspirational and accomplished women, led by Alicia Keys, will choose the applicants from the pool of nominations submitted before the deadline of 5pm EDT on June 26, 2013.
