Who really are the big spenders in London

London the UK capital always attracts shoppers from all over the

world, from Asia to Africa from Africa to the Americans and indead

Europe sees throngs of dedicated shoppers cram its countless

department stores, boutiques and market stalls, keen to get their

hands on the latest fashion trends and product offers.

But it's not just domestic spend that's keeping the tills ringing in

London. While the vibrant city's high-end stores are no strangers to

overseas visitors, with those from the Middle East typically spending

the most, a surprising new contender has emerged in recent times as a

big spender in the international market -- Nigeria.

According to CNN

Nigeria and indead Africa is growing from strength to strength and

particularly in the last 12 to 18 months london has seen Nigeria come

through incredibly strongly, in shopping.

The situation is best explained by Sue west the director of operations

at one of London department stores.

"It is a very broad base so we still very much have a strong Chinese

base, a strong Middle East base, Russia is there, the BRICs nations as

you imagine, but Nigeria seems to be coming through very strongly at

the moment as well.

The former British colony is Africa's most populous nation as well as

the continent's top oil producer. According to African Economic

Outlook (AEO), Nigeria'seconomic growth has averaged about 7.4%

annually over the past decade, creating a wealthier Nigerian elite

with a large spending power. At the same time, however, AEO says that

robust economic growth has not reduced poverty in the country, with

about two thirds of its population living on less than $1 per day.

Home to a large African diaspora, the UK is a popular travel

destination for Nigerians visiting friends and relatives, going on

holidays or conducting business.

Daily flights between Nigeria and the UK have increased in recent

years, with airlines such as BritishAirways allowing Nigerian

customers an additional 23kg of baggage free of charge.

Literary Interpretation of Educational Technology

Education technology can be explained by providing the literal

interpretation of the two major concepts of ''Education'' and

''technology''. The term ''education'' means a process of teaching,

training and learning especially in schools or colleges to improve

knowledge and develop skills.

Education can also be regarded as that which is given to an individual

to make him develop socially, intellectually and morally as to allow

for his or her personal overall development and the development of the

community in which he or she finds himself or herself.

''Technology'' can be defined as a body of knowledge which when used

or applied helps in solving problems. One can then infer, from the

literal point of view that educational technology means ''application

of a body of knowledge to solving educational problems.

Family life What does it mean

Family life is societal life and societal life is family life. This

truism is self evident hence without families, there would not be

schools, mosques, markets, governments and technologies. Failure of

the family is also failure of the societies and vice versa.

Unfortunately, the crucial roles of family are replete with incidents

of trial and errors that have prompted several quick entrance and

countless quick exits from matrimonial homes.

Being in the family is not just enough to make it a home.

Communication is vital for the assurance of happiness. Do you know

that one timely ''sorry'' can save a situation just as one 'thanks'

from a spouse can make the other feel on top of the world?

Parenting requires rationality, morality, health awareness, emotional

maturity and finance. Cherish your families always.

JAMB and WAEC VS Nigerian students equals exam fever

As the West African Examination Council (WAEC) And Joint Admissions

and Matriculation Board JAMB exams draws near, Nigerian Students are

now in exam crazy mood which I term "Exam fever". JAMB and WAEC are

the two bodies charged with preparing Students all over the West coast

of Africa in the case of WAEC while JAMB is responsible for Nigeria,

and they do so by means of exams.

As the exams draws near the question now in the minds of Nigerians

are: Is our students studying? Can they really put more effort inorder

to better last year records? How many students will get admission if

they eventually pass both?

This are questions diffcult to answer considering the poor state of

naija education, I mean in a Country thats takes education of it's

citizens for granted things are bound to go wrong.

I look into my crystal ball and I know one thing for certain the

number of admission seekers far exceeds the capacity of Nigerian

Universities to take them in.

American Cancer Society - R.O.C.K. College Scholarship ProgramThe Cancer Society college scholarship is worth a maximum of $2,700 toward tuition per year, dependent on the number of hours taken, plus $300 per year for textbooks. All scholarships are awarded at the discretion of the American Cancer Society's volunteer college scholarship committee.

Description

Established in 1992, the scholarship program is designed to provide young cancer patients an opportunity to reach their academic potential - and their career dreams - by earning a college degree.

The American Cancer Society's R.O.C.K. College Scholarship Program is an award-winning college scholarship opportunity exclusively for students with a history of cancer. The program gives young cancer survivors a chance to pursue an undergraduate degree from an accredited Florida university, community college, or vocational technical school. R.O.C.K. College Scholarships are one of three American Cancer Society Reaching Out to Cancer Kids, R.O.C.K. Programs in Florida. The other programs are R.O.C.K. Camp and Families R.O.C.K. Weekend.

Scholarships are limited to a maximum 130 semester credit hours, over a maximum of five years, whichever comes first. Due to limited resources, the American Cancer Society may not be able to award scholarships to all young cancer survivors who apply.
