2013 American Institute of CPAs scholarship Programs to Study Accounting, USA

The American Institute of CPAs is now announcing four types of demanding scholarships for accounting graduate students.

Description
The following are the American Institute of CPAs scholarship Programs which are offered this year:
    2013 American Institute of CPAs scholarship Programs to Study Accounting, USA
  • The AICPA Fellowship for Minority Doctoral Students worth $12,000/year
  • The AICPA John L. Carey Scholarship worths a $5,000/year
  • The AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship worths a $2,500/year
  • AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students worths a (up to) $3,000/year

Eligibility

Each of the scholarships has diffrent eligible criteria as follow:
The AICPA Fellowship for Minority Doctoral Students
  • a) applied to a doctoral program and am awaiting word on acceptance; b) been accepted into a doctoral program; or c)already matriculated in a doctoral program and pursuing appropriate coursework
  • earned a Master’s Degree and/or completed at least 3 years of full-time experience in the accounting practice
  • be a minority student of Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; or Native American ethnicity
  • attend school on a full-time basis and remain enrolled full-time until attaining one’s doctoral degree
  • be a CPA or plan to pursue the CPA credential

The AICPA John L. Carey Scholarship
  • obtained a liberal arts or non-business undergraduate degree prior to enrolling in a graduate accounting program
  • not earned more than 12 credits in accounting or business during their undergraduate program
  • been accepted into, or am in the process of applying to, a graduate program in accounting that is accredited by AACSB International or ACBSP
  • not already be actively participating in a graduate accounting program
  • intending to pursue a CPA certificate

The AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship
  • are a full-time undergraduate or graduate-level accounting student
  • have completed at least 30 semester hours (or equivalent) of college coursework, including at least 6 semester hours (or equivalent) in accounting
  • have a major and overall GPA of 3.0

AICPA Scholarship for Minority Accounting Students
  • a full-time undergraduate or graduate-level accounting student
  • Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; Native American or Asian American
  • completed at least 30 semester hours in college coursework with at least 6 semester hours in accounting
  • a major and overall GPA of 3.3
