The Forestry research grant is available for for students from developing countries. The research scholarship is fully sponsored by The Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR). CIFOR offers competitive remuneration for a period of one year (including six months probation) with a possibility of extension.Description
The Research grant award will be a part of the REDD+ Benefits Sharing Project. The main task of the Research Assistant is to support the research of Work Package (WP) 1. Other tasks will include support to project management and coordination, and to research the activities of the other WPs as needed and directed.
Eligibility
- Education, experience and technical skills Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such in economics, forestry or natural resources management, etc. Master’s degree is an advantage. -Demonstrated analytical skills.
- Knowledge of climate change and REDD issues is an advantage.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Strong computer skills in database, word processing and other relevant office applications.
- Knowledge of analytical software is an advantage.
- Personal attributes and competencies Competent in personal organisation and priority setting with the ability to work effectively under time pressures and manage multiple priorities.
- Have initiative and is capable of working independently as well as an effective team player.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with people in a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environment.
