Scholarship for Students With Disabilities at Westminster University, UK

Scholarship for Students With Disabilities The Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) is available to UK/Home students with a disability or specific learning difficulty. If you are an international student with a disability, get in touch with the Disability Learning Support team for guidance on your funding options.
Description

The DSA is designed to help with any extra costs you may incur as a result of studying on your course. It is not means tested against your income and you will not need to pay the money back. Also, unlike the Maintenance Grant, the DSA does not affect the amount of Maintenance Loan you can get.

The Disabled Students Allowance can contribute towards:
  • equipment (computer, specialist software etc.)
  • non-medical helpers (note-takers, readers, sign language interpreters etc.)
  • travel
  • general (extra costs of consumables)

Eligibility
You may eligible to apply this scholarship if you are:
  • you are a UK/Home student and meet Student Finance England's residency requirements
  • you are studying full-time on a first degree or full-time on a postgraduate course
  • you have a disability (including long-term mental health problems) or specific learning difficulty (eg dyslexia)

Application Procedure
Please find the application form at the link below. We recommend you get in touch with our Disability Learning Support team when you complete the form. They will make sure you complete the form correctly and get the equipment and support you need. The team will also be able to monitor the progress of your application and help you arrange an assessment at the Central London Assessment Centre.
