LLM Scholarship The Open Society Foundation is now offers The Middle East Rule of Law Masters Scholarships Program (MEROL) - LLM Scholarship.The applicants may apply the following fields; law (LLM), public policy/public administration, media/communications studies, gender/women’s studies, and social work.

Description
This Middle East Rule of Law Masters Scholarships Program (MEROL) and LLM Scholarship is Funded by the Open Society Foundations and host partner universities, the program supports Middle Eastern students from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Syria, and Palestine who demonstrate both academic excellence and strong leadership potential.

Eligibility
  • be legal residents of Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Syria, or Palestine (West Bank or Gaza, including East Jerusalem) at the time of the application
  • demonstrate an excellent academic record and have an advanced degree (Minimum: Bachelor’s)
  • display impressive civil society leadership potential
  • have strong English language ability, which will be tested through tests and interviews (Minimum TOEFL score: 480)
  • be able to begin the program in August or September 2013
  • be able to receive and maintain a U.S. J-1 visa (for students placed in the U.S.) or a Hungarian visa (for students placed at the Central European University in Budapest)
  • participate in an intensive academic writing program in summer 2013 prior to departure to US
  • commit to returning to their home country upon degree completion
